Our Vision

A healed world with distributed wealth, social justice and positive peace supported by a development sector that empowers local communities and change makers to sustain it.

To achieve this, our conviction is that intended communities need to be engaged when designing developmental interventions and that such efforts need to be led by intended communities themselves.

Ultimately, sustainable development to us is a world where communities are off the life-support assistance of international donors and are instead self-sufficient, empowered and leading their realities.

Our Mission

Our mission is to judiciously direct resources towards development interventions that communities evaluate as effective, impactful and sustainable, while prioritizing genuine local actors.

Our Values

  • Integrity

We pride ourselves in being an ‘impact-first’ enterprise, and this is because our mission is to empower communities to reach self-sufficiency. We are conscious that some actors in the development sector have accumulated resources, wealth and accolades for ‘solving’ the problems of the world; we want a world that does not have these problems nor heavily relies on these actors. To achieve this, our integrity is safeguarded by our disregard for profit. A legacy of tangible change is what we ‘profit’ by doing our work.

  • People

People are the core of everything we do. We believe that intended communities have the answers to the challenges they face. They may require resources, networks or even technical expert advice, but we truly believe that communities have the underlying answers within them. To engage the largest portion of society, we rely on visual research methods to ensure consultations are accessible, participatory and community-led.

  • Innovation

We believe that innovation is not just newness. Innovation to us represents the highest form of pragmatism. Pragmatism that does not prioritize capitalist values, but instead, maximum horizontal benefit. We bring this definition to our evaluation of proposed interventions and partners. We believe this kind of inclusive, maximum horizontal benefit innovation is what will revolutionize the development sector today.
